Kate Dobson

Hello!  My name is Kate Dobson, and I am from Spokane, Washington.  Right now, I am studying strategic communication at The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University Pullman campus, with a minor in psychology.

My primary role in our team’s passion project (wedding planning) is working with web development, metrics, and digital content.  I am very excited to work on this passion project with my team members because it is wedding planning—what’s not to love?  It is not every day that you get to plan a wedding, much less design a company specializing in it.  I am also really excited to start promoting the business and adding various options to our website such as wedding gowns, flowers, venues, and food!  Our passion project is going to give me a lot of experience in developing media platforms for a company, isolating a target audience for that company, and analyzing various digital content to further develop the project.

In addition to being excited about the idea of being young adult female whose project is to design a wedding company with some fun girls, I am eager to gain some experience.  This class is going to guide me to learning new, useful skills that I can pad my professional resume with to prove I have enough experience for a job.

I hope to join a public relations firm back home in Spokane after I graduate in May of 2018.  I have recently been most interested in Desautel Hege in downtown Spokane because of the positive, creative environment, though any firm would be a dream as a starting point in my career.  I love to talk, to be creative, and have a constantly changing environment.
