Jasmine Darakjy

Hi there! My name is Jasmine Darakjy and I am from El Paso, TX. I am a communication major specializing in journalism and media production at The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University with a minor in women’s studies.

My primary role on this team is to be a writer and researcher for all of Limerence Weddings’ projects. I am most excited to learn about how to pinpoint the exact needs of our typical product consumer and develop a detailed plan as to how to meet and satisfy those needs. Furthermore, I am excited to see how all of the components of our “one stop shop” wedding packages come to life and to see what fits best for each individual package based on our variety of customers. As a communication major specializing in journalism, it is fun to see more of the public relations side of my major as a whole. I believe the skills I learn throughout this passion project will help carry me throughout my future career.

After I graduate college, my dream is to become an international correspondent for a national news station. However, I realize that opportunity is given to very few people in this world, so I would be happy being a news anchor at a local news station ideally somewhere along the west coast. I have taken multiple courses on how to write for news and I have also starred as the lead female anchor on Cable 8 Production’s, “The Update,” a satirical news show produced by students at WSU. I am currently trying to obtain a summer internship at a news station in El Paso so I can get more hands on experience in my future field. Other organizations and clubs I am involved in include serving as the VP-elect for the Association for Women in Communications. Additionally, I am a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, a Panhellenic sorority on campus, in which I am able to serve my community and lead by example as a member of the greek community.

My best qualities are my determination, attention to detail, and positive attitude when working with others. I believe these qualities are what makes me a great writer and researcher for this passion project. Throughout my experience working on teams, I have always made it a point to contribute everything I can in order to achieve the results my team is looking for. When I am designated a specific role for any project, I do not stop working on it until my team is satisfied with the results. I am also very articulated when it comes to writing and I emphasize a positive flow of ideas and amount of detail in my work.
